Msn Messenger

I found this flaw in Windows 98 in late 2001..it allows you to kick contacts out of Msn and makes the app. cause a page fault in Kernel 32 on the suspects computer.

Kernel 32 is located in a protected memory location, if an app. enters this location a page fault will occur, causing whatever app. in this case Msn messenger to be halted or shut down.

To make Msn Messenger enter the protected memory location, you need to invite a contact into upwards of 80 conversations. When you have invited them to a lot of conversations simply close them all at once! that's all there is to it. You'll probably need at least 384MB of memory in order to do this else the page file will be entered too much, slowly bringing your computer to a halt. 512MB is good for this task, 768MB is amazing and 1024MB is overkill.

If anybody knows what patch fixes this problem could you email me as I'm curious to find out!

M$ seem to have sorted out this flaw in ME though, even though it's based on the 9x kernel the flaw simply doesn't exist, although their are many more flaws that make up for this...there was nowhere M$ could take the 9x kernel any further, they just made it worse without realising it till it was released and all the flaws were found. M$ haven't even bothered to write fixes for some of the security holes! oh well. XP & Windows Server 2003 ALMOST make up for ME.

Not surprisingly the flaw also doesn't exist in the NT kernel.

Version 4.7 is STILL the best version to use, anything newer and you get too much advertising and processor time hogging stuff you don't need! not to mention the security flaws that STILL lie in even the newest version but M$ don't seem to have been bothered to fix!!

*I won't say how you get them there, you have to work it out for yourself -- it's not exactly rocket science!

** I won't take responsibility for the annoyance it causes people!

  • Blockeroonie Flaw**

If you get blocked by a contact don't worry, I've figured out how to get around this too...it is a little complicated however but you soon get used to it!

One thing you will need to have is three accounts and all of these need to be used at once on the same computer. This can't be done with the standard version of messenger of course but there are plenty of hacked ones which work a treat for this job, namely Several Msn Sessions...don't try to use Trillian for this, takes far too much time!

I'll call these accounts X, Y & Z. X being the account that got blocked, Y being any old account and Z being an account unknown to the suspect.

You NEED to start of opening up Msn on account Z. Invite accounts X & Y into this conversation and type something so a window opens up these two accounts. You should now have three conversation windows open. Using account Z do something* to get the blocked contact into the conversation, then simply leave the conversation with account Z. You can now talk to the person who blocked you and they are unaware of how you got them into the conversation.

  • Hide your IP address & Host Mask from sites

Well, its easy enough to google for http proxy servers isn't it? preferably ones which are anonymous and in the UK so you aren't greeted with crazy latency before pages come down. I tend to use a separate proxy for both browsers to make it easier and to give other people using the same proxy some bandwidth.
